  Steven  Mannion

Born in Dublin in May 1983 Steven always dreamed of becoming an artist. As a child he dedicated most of his time to the development of his talent and was never without a sketchpad and pencil, “I can never remember a time when I didn’t draw or paint, it was always part of my life”.

After finishing school Steven traveled before going on to study Art Design and Mixed Media in BCFE, where amongst other things he studied Photography Painting and Sculpture.

Mannion find’s his inspiration in everything he sees around him. Spending a lot of time in the Wicklow mountains, Sligo and Dublin he tries to capture and combine images to create beautiful and energized work. Mannion manages to create pieces that seem to vibrate with colour, producing very distinctive and vivid works of art.

After taking part in several small group show’s and the Art Ireland art fair, in November 2007 Mannion went on to launch his first solo art exhibition in October of this year in No 15 St Stephen’s Green, which was a huge success a “dream come true” according to the artist.

Painting in acrylic and using a glaze technique he build’s up the body of colour and develops a rich depth in his pieces. With a subject matter that’s mainly floral with some figurative work, he creates a very warm energy around his work.

“When painting I am the happiest person in the world, a lot of people have said they feel that from my paintings'".

Mannion’s work features in private collections in Ireland and abroad. His work also hangs in Krystle Nightclub Harcourt Street and in The Factory Rehearsal Studios in Dublin 4. Steven can claim several high profile celebrity clients including actor Colin Farrell.
